Wahl's History
The impressive Wahl legacy all began with the invention of the electric clipper by Wahl’s founder Leo J. Wahl. Throughout his years as a high school student and also while studying to be an engineer at the University of Illinois, Wahl became interested in electric motors. Through a lot of trials and error (and determination!) he succeeded in creating a medical massager while a college student that he decided to market to barbershops.
It was his time spent in and around those barbershops that sparked the idea of inventing an electric hair clipper. Wahl recognized the needs of the barbers that he met while peddling his massager’s and set out to create a reliable, efficient tool that would help the barbers grown their businesses. After a little tweaking and a final patent approval, Wahl clippers became the standard of grooming in barbershops across the country.
Building on the success seen in the professional barbershops, Wahl soon branched out into the home grooming arena. Wahl soon became known and is still known, as the worldwide leader in men’s grooming products. The Vac-Clipper, which used a vacuum force to contain just clipped hairs, brow and nose hair clippers, vibrating massager’s and hair styling tools all round out the Wahl line of products.
Women’s products were also introduced into the Wahl family of products, such as the line of Lady Wahl shavers and an innovative curling iron known as the Zee Curl. General Overview
The Wahl Professional Peanut is one of Wahl’s most popular products. It is a powerful, efficient trimmer that is much smaller and lighter than most other trimmers. It is known for being very easy to use and has been an answer to my prayers. I used to nick myself almost every single day with my old trimmer. Since switching to the Peanut, I enjoy an incredibly close shave and have not one nicked myself or suffered from any kind of skin irritation.
Usage
The main reason that the Peanut clipper/trimmer has gained such an intense following is due to the incredible amount of power packed into a petite sized trimmer. Its small size makes it easy to handle and easy to maneuver on a variety of body parts (it’s even great to use on pets as well!)
